The location was off the hook, right on the beach with killer waves to surf. We had a blast catching waves and showing off our sick surf skills. The staff were super cool and hooked us up with surfboards and wetsuits. Plus, there were awesome restaurants nearby where we grubbed on delicious food after shredding the waves. Best vacay ever!
The only thing we wished for was a rad party scene at the accommodation. It would have been epic to have a chill hangout spot with music and a fun vibe where we could mingle with other young party-goers.

The beachfront location was absolutely stunning, with apricot-colored sand and sparkling shells that were unlike anything I've ever seen before. The charming wooden decor and vintage furnishings added a unique touch and made it easy for me to completely relax. The friendly host, Jackie, went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and even offered us a better room with a fantastic view. Despite the lack of air conditioning, the room was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed sleeping with the window open, thanks to the net curtain for added privacy. The laundry facilities were a great convenience, and the proximity to Cape Reinga made it a perfect location for exploring. the location, friendly staff, and affordable price made this stay absolutely amazing. I will definitely be coming back.

The location was absolutely perfect, right on the beautiful beach with a park for the kids to play in. We enjoyed outdoor dining on the big deck, which had a stunning view of the sea. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. We felt like we had the deck to ourselves and it was a great place to spread out and relax. Highly recommend for families!
My children wanted more activities specifically designed for them.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Driftwood Lodge in Cable Bay, Owhetu. We spent a week there and it was the perfect escape from the busy city life. The location was absolutely fantastic, with each room offering stunning ocean views. We loved sitting on the deck, sipping our coffee and watching the waves. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchenette. The beds were cozy and we slept soundly each night. The lodge is child-friendly, and our daughter adored the owner's dog who always greeted us at the desk. The beach and playground were just steps away, making it ideal for families with children. We also appreciated the helpful advice and recommendations given by Jackie, one of the hosts.

The rooms at Driftwood Beachfront Accommodation have an incredible balcony or deck with stunning sea views. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a meal while taking in the beautiful scenery. As a solo traveller, I couldn't ask for a better place to relax and unwind.
Personally, I found the showers in the bathrooms to be a bit small. However, it's just my preference and others may not mind it at all.

We had such a fantastic time at this beachfront accommodation! The views were absolutely stunning, and being just a stone's throw away from the beach was a dream come true. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved being able to relax on the balcony and take in the beautiful ocean scenery. Plus, there were some awesome BBQ facilities that we made good use of. a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a stress-free vacation.
While we had a great time overall, there were a few minor issues. whenever someone walked in the unit above us, the roof would creak loudly, which was a bit distracting.

I had a fantastic stay here. Upon arrival, I was delighted to find out that my room had been upgraded to a larger apartment with an outside seating area and a view of the beach with golden sand. The room was beautifully decorated with colorful pottery and antique chairs, giving it a cozy and homely feel. The bedsheets were crisp and white, and the sound of the ocean waves lulled me to sleep. The location of the hotel was superb, with a breathtaking view right over the water. It was also conveniently located, with easy access to Kaitaia and other nearby attractions. The beach was clean and lovely, and I enjoyed borrowing the kayaks and paddle boats for some fun on the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the guest orientation book provided great recommendations for nearby restaurants.
All was good.
